Social Media and the Success of Blastoff

Consider these facts about Social Media: (This is a Really eye-opening film!)

Given that Social Media is obviously an unstoppable force that is already dominating the world and will continue to gain additional time in each of our daily lives, you’d think that the previous internet home page portals like Google, Live and Yahoo would have capitalized on this fact by now and inserted things like your Facebook and twitter panels in.

No such luck. I’m sure they WILL do so in the future, if for no other reason than to play catch-up to Blastoff, but the fact is that they did not do so in time. To little, to late. They will never regain that market share… Ever.

Why? Because Blastoff pays its users. Cash in the form of rebates and downline earnings… Google, MSN, and Yahoo have no desire to build their own vast networks with all the individual merchants like Blastoff has done, and it may in fact be breaking their own laws to do so because they have to keep their search results unbiased.

So, since they didn’t do so before now, and since Blastoff will always be able to offer more incentive to its users, and especially since everyone WILL know about Blastoff well before Google and it’s ilk catch up and put social media panels in their portal page, Blastoff simply won. End of story.

So what exactly does Blastoff win?

The largest ever prize on the entire internet. The very best, most expensive ad placement space online. Everyone’s Home Page. Google ads aren’t even close… Getting your ad on the front of Blastoff portals would be the online equivalent of placing an ad on every billboard in the world, at once. All of them.

I just know that Google especially is kicking itself right now, and GOOG stock is going down soon once the shareholders realized how big Blastoff gets and how fast.

The one thing that could ease that drop-off in Google’s stock price is when Blastoff announces who will be the Search Engine that they offer through their portal… They are currently in negotiations with Google, Bing, and other search providers and I’m sure it’s in Blastoff’s best interest to sit on that decision until after the 27th.

The bottom line here though is that Social Media and Blastoff are a match made in heaven. Don’t be surprised how useful you find your blastoff page once you get yours… We’re all addicted to ours here and can’t imagine going back to the old way of using a my.yahoo.com portal page and then leaving it to go to facebook, youtube and Twitter!

That would just be downright uncivilized. :)
